If you love a good mouse, but were stymied by how many of them seemed to be PC only, my guess is that any mouse will now work with SteerMouse. I finally completely uninstalled USB Overdrive and installed the newer SteerMouse. Advanced Driver Update© is a recommended utlity that removes all of the complications when updating your Logitech Gaming USB G3 (MX518) Optical Mouse drivers.

Not that big a fan of SteerMouse, it seems harder to get the acceleration fixed on it. His site does promise a new upgrade, but that's been over a year ago. I also use a MX518 and havent seen that issue at all with USB Overdrive. I wrote Alessandro, but never did not hear back from him regarding a fix for the 518. However, the developer hasn't upgraded it for a long time, and try as I did, I couldn't get it to recognize all 7 of Logitech's buttons. Beats the pants off of Logitech's software by a mile. Earlier versions dating back to macOS 10.2.8 remain.

I think Logitech mice are the best out there, especially if you are a fan of shortcuts.
